What are the Chances You'll Catch this While Driving?

Driving down War Memorial Drive, we are bombarded with flashing lights, billboards and ads. Most of the time I find myself entranced by the music playing or the road ahead, I don’t even take a second to look at my surroundings. However, the other day I was sitting at the light off of University and noticed the brightly colored billboard ahead of me. I was instantly spellbound by the bright yellow background, along with the well laid out design of 102.7 Goodtime Oldies radio station logo.

Very few times do I find myself looking at ads along the road, whether be the Little Caesar’s worker flashing the $5 pizza sign or the number of the billboards along 116 heading to Metamora. Each is made with the same intention of creating brand awareness, but why did 102.7 Goodtime Oldies yellow sign catch my eye over others?

In the creation of a billboard, you have a remarkably short time to catch your viewers’ attention, especially in an area that has a quick drive-by rate.

Location, Location, Location:

This follows strongly when talking about ad placement along the road. Here in Peoria, I couldn't think of a better location than the one right off of University.

Eye-Catching:

It all plays into one bucket, unfortunately you might have an amazing message or product, but if the ad is not catching it will be passed over.
