Facebook, Twitter, Blogs.
All of these are social media platforms, a way we can reach out to a
larger number of audience about experiences in your life or updates of your
family and children. These are examples
of ways people use Facebook, Twitter, and Blogs, but there are times when the
posts get a little too extreme.
Are there boundaries of what to say when posting? Social media is used for the general public,
but one does have to hold themselves back because this statement, “What happens
in Vegas stays in Vegas” is not necessarily the case anymore.
Do you remember the saying your parents used to give you
when you said something mean, “if you don’t have something nice to say, then
don’t say it at all?” When it comes to
our social platforms, did we lose all sense of this saying?
Here are a few tips of do’s and don’ts on social media platforms?
Do’s:
-Be aware of what you post and the audience you are trying
to reach
-When posting personal news, a call to your intended subject
might be a better tactic
-Be aware of the facts before pre-posting something when
your comment or writing might be false
-Be kind and aware of comments you do post
Don’ts:
-Do not discuss work, unless you have something really
awesome to say
-Do not talk about others, even if they are not your
friend.
-Try to stay away from writing when in anger
